Hello and thank you for choosing this class as your Psychology core.

Please, do not think for an instant that I believe you are here because you LOVE psychology.  I am well aware that this is a subject you must take to satisfy your core credits.

However, with that said, wouldn't it be great if you actually enjoy the class enough to learn something that could be useful in your own personal life?

Here is my challenge to you....are you ready? It is a very simple challenge.  I challenge you to learn something about psychology - anything - just learn it!  You may ask "what exactly does "learn it" mean?"  Ahh... that is the million dollar question!

Does it mean getting straight A's? No! (although, that may help your GPA)

Does it mean becoming a Pittsburgh Steeler fan? No! (but you may get a few brownie points)

Learning psychology is coming to class, hearing the lecture, and then asking yourself how it fits into your life.  By asking that question you then will be willing to open yourself up to conversations in class and before you know it - you have learned psychology.

I have created this website as a way, for you the student, to keep in touch with me through the blog, watch videos for classes missed or for extra credit, and also for test study questions.

Along the right side of the page you will notice highlighted links for the Syllabus, videos, homework, and study questions.  By clicking on these links you will be directed to everything you need to pass this class with flying colors.  You will also see many highlighted words throughout the text - all of these will send you to somewhere on the information highway.  As you take your journey, take some notes too.....

I also typically hold 5-6 weekly study groups for my classes on campus.  The students tend to enjoy these informal get togethers and it is a way to further indulge your psychological appetite!
